Rapid functional MRI in the mouse heart at 11.7T

چکیده
Background CINE imaging of the mouse heart is an established technique on high-field small animal MRI systems. The current imaging protocols normally comprise twodimensional CINE imaging in 2and 4-chamber geometry and a stack of short axis views for full functional coverage of the heart. For SNR constraints, acquisition times are still in the minute range for a single 2D slice, yielding rather long acquisition times for a complete short axis stack. Recently introduced cryogenically cooled resonators (CCR) offer the possibility of a significant increase in SNR, and hence offer the potential for rapid cine imaging of the mouse heart. The objective of this study was to investigate the feasibility of rapid functional imaging of the mouse heart utilizing the SNR gain provided by CCRs.

MRI Assessment of Cardiomyopathy Induced by β1-Adrenoreceptor Autoantibodies and Protection Through β3-Adrenoreceptor Overexpression
The cardiopathogenic role of autoantibodies (aabs) directed against β1-adrenoreceptors (β1-AR) is well established. In mouse models, they cause progressive dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) whose characterization with echocardiography requires prolonged protocols with numerous animals, complicating the evaluation of new treatments. Here, we report on the characterization of β1-aabs-induced DCM in mi...
متن کاملBrain Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography Scan (SPECT) and Functional MRI in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus Patients with Cognitive Dysfunction: A Systematic Review
Objective(s): Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease with a wide range of clinical manifestations. Cognitive dysfunction is one of the manifestations that could present prior to the emergence of any other neuropsychiatric involvements in SLE. Cognitive dysfunction is a subtle condition occurring with ahigh frequency. However, there is no data on the correlation of cognitive...
متن کاملAnalysis of right ventricular function in healthy mice and a murine model of heart failure by in vivo MRI.
Because of its complex geometry, assessment of right ventricular (RV) function is more difficult than it is for the left ventricle (LV). Because gene-targeted mouse models of cardiomyopathy may involve remodeling of the right heart, the purpose of this study was to develop high-resolution functional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for in vivo quantification of RV volumes and global function in...

MATERIALS AND METHODS A multiecho gradient reversal-based sequence allowing interleaved water-fat imaging during a single acquisition and quantitation of fat/water conten...
متن کاملThe Role of MRI in the Diagnosis of Post-sternotomy Injuries of the Brachial Plexus
Brachial Plexus Injury (BPI) is an uncommon complication of median sternotomy capable of causing a permanent or transitory sensitivity and/or motor function impairment in the upper limbs. During a cardiac surgery through sternotomy, for the assessment of the thoracic cage configuration and the site of mediastinal structures, a broader surgical field may be required. If the sternal retractors ar...
